Panic disorder and School?
I feel like I have asked this question so many times on here but I still need answers.
-I have generalized anxiety and panic disorder
-Ive had it for 6 years, I see a doctor, and am on medication
-About a year ago I stopped being able to go into classrooms because of panicking.
-The school has basically given up on me because if im not going into the classroom they dont care.
-I have an IEP
-I am doing some online courses
-WHERE SHOULD I GO FROM HERE? I NEED TO GRADUATE AND THE SCHOOL CANT HELP ME ANYMORE. WHAT RIGHTS DO I HAVE WITH MY IEP? DO THEY HAVE TO FIND ME EDUCATION? PLEASE HELP!
Your school cant give up on you if you are under a doctors care. You need to find out why you have the panic attacks at school. I also suffer from panic disorder and understand what you are going through. If you begin to avoid going to class to not have an attack it will cause you to avoid other things and it will become a huge problem if it hasn’t already. If you stop going and start taking these on line classes you have given in to the disorder. Go to class know that you are o.k. Let the teachers know of your disorder and don’t let them blow you off. You can get through an attack during school and it is o.k for you to fear, just don’t stop going. You will make it thorough the day there if you can just hold yourself together through the attacks.
