how to deal with daily anxiety
How to Deal with Daily Stress & Anxiety – Give me 5 Practical Tips to Beat Stress Tension?

1. Acknowledge that stress is good. It helps you see a chronic problem and push past mental & physical blocks.

2. Avoid people who are known to pass on their own stress to you. This will leave you with more tension.

3. Emulate people who manage stress & anxiety well. Seek motivation from their positive approach.

4. Breathe deeply and release negative thoughts at the beginning and end of each day. It releases pent-up anxiety & tension.

5. Burn the candle at one end. Don’t over-extend yourself just to prove a point.

separation anxiety in children age 2
1 1/2 yr old…separation anxiety??!!!?

I recently started to take my son to a daycare, prior to this he had a “one-on-one” babysitter meaning he was the only child she watched. It has been about 3 wks now & it is getting worse EVERYDAY! it is now to the point that as soon as I PARK infront of the daycare -he FREAKS OUT!!! he screams and cry’s when I drop him off; and whats worse is that when I pick him up and take him home -He wants to be held ALL NIGHT LONG!!! I have to cook holding him, I have to eat, holding him -I even have to go to sleep HOLDING HIM!!! HELP!!!!!

Is he just too young for this type of change? I thought that being around other children his age would benefit him but I just dont know anymore :( should I just “tough it out”? or just go back to the “one-on-one babysitter”? I just want what’s best for him…

I used to work in daycare, and 3 weeks seems like a long time for this to carry on. Which makes me wonder, what is going on AT the Daycare that is making him react this way. It could be overstimulation, but to me, that just doesn’t seem likely. Do they have an observation room you can go into and watch your son function throughout the day?

I can tell you from experience, that, while children are upset when you drop them off, 9 times out of 10 they stop crying BEFORE you are out of the parking lot!! It’s the holding at home that is confusing. I would try doing less and less of that. Maybe putting him in his highchair with some cheerios, or his favorite toy, where he can see you while you cook. Maybe if you try something like this, and extend the time he is in the highchair each week, he may come around.
