how do i cure anxiety and depression without going to the doctor?
i’m getting to the point where i don’t want to go outside as i fainted in town 3 weeks ago and i’m worried it will happen again. the ambulance team checked me out and said i was fine. i did have an eye infection and then i got a tooth absis and it’s left me really weak. any ideas. i do have a serve dust allergy (rhintis) which is really getting me down
Go out and face it. Same happened to me – I fainted while out and then didn’t go out again. It really ruined my life! But I started going out and facing it and now things are fine again. Just think positive! Nothing bad will happen. If you start to feel anxious just think positive. You are fine – last time was a one off. Or focus on something else to keep your mind off your feelings.
Start off with small things first if it really bothers you, then do that til you feel comfortable, then try something that makes you more anxious and keep doing that until you feel ok with it. For example, if you don’t want to go outside at all, just force yourself to walk to the end of the street a couple of times a day for a few days. Then try walking a bit further after that and keep repeating it.
Getting over the anxiety will help a lot with the depression.
A doctor or counselor will basically tell you the same thing – they call it CBT. It is self help, but you have to want to do. The only other option is medication and you can get over it without that. Best to at least try first
